Shipdle's vessel data comes from Wikidata, released into the public domain under CC0 1.0. Data retrieved retrieved 2026-07-10.

Each answer's teach card is a short verbatim excerpt from the vessel's English Wikipedia article summary, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0; those articles remain the copyright of their authors. The excerpt is shown only after a puzzle is finished, with a From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0) link back to the source article. Reuse of a teach excerpt must keep that attribution and the same licence.

Vessel hint photos come from Wikimedia Commons, each individually license-verified (US-gov public domain, PD-old, CC0, CC BY, or CC BY-SA - never NonCommercial or NoDerivatives). The progressive pixelation is a derivative work; CC BY-SA sources keep their share-alike licence. Per-photo credits:
